About

LyDiA (our name for the Lymm Digital Archive) is all about preserving, securing and sharing Lymm's Heritage through the creation of an on-line archive.

Whether it is for research, education or simple enjoyment we believe the archive will be a valuable resource for the whole community.

You can download more information and read about our philosophy of sharing heritage here.

The project is managed by Lymm Heritage Centre with the support of the Heritage Lottery Fund but is not restricted to material in the possession of or donated to the Heritage Centre.

Lymm Heritage Information Centre is a registered charity 1164961. It exists to record, celebrate and share the unique history of Lymm by developing a permanent Heritage Centre, by developing and managing an education programme for schools and of course by the development of this archive. Do you have material to add to the archive ?

We would encourage any organisation with material of lasting interest that deserves to be preserved to contact us to see how we can work together to help build a collection for the benefit of all.

We always welcome individual donations too that will help us build a bigger and better archive.  We do not wish to take ownership of your originals. We would much prefer to scan them and return them... and maybe sometimes enhance them in the process to reverse some of the effects of ageing.

If you would like to talk about lending us images, documents, maps on that basis please email us at thelymmarchive@gmail.com. If you also give us a telephone number we will call you back .

Would you like to be involved ?

In the near future we will need volunteers to scan, to catalogue, to enter descriptions and to do research. It's a great chance to learn new skills, meet new people, learn about Lymm and be part of this exciting project. Would you like to support the project ?

Contact thelymmarchive@gmail.com If you also give us a telephone number we will call you back .

Every element of our wider Heritage Project relies on public support for its long term sustainability. All donations are very welcome and appreciated.  Become a Friend for just £1 a month or give us a donation. You can support us on our donation page.  Thank you.
